How This List of Popular Car Brands Is Ranked
This list of popular car brands is ordered by Ahrefs search data for 2026: how often people search Google for each brand’s logo, symbol and emblem (“porsche logo”, “bmw symbol” and so on). Rank 1 is the most searched brand and the rank is its place in the grid above. The {count} brands are car makers that are still active. Models, performance divisions, tuners, truck-only makers and brands that have closed are left out of the ranking, and the classic brands, models and tuners people also search for sit in the groups below it.
Popular does not mean best-selling. The brands that sell the most cars are not always the ones people look up, which is why Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari, small makers next to mass-market brands, rank so high. People search for their badges because they are famous, and a logo search says more about fame than about sales. The list doubles as a famous car name list: the common car brands everyone knows, such as Ford, Toyota and Honda, sit beside rarer names such as Koenigsegg and Pagani, whose logos people search for because they are famous. If you want every brand rather than the most searched ones, see all car brands A-Z, or browse the car logos with names grid.

Popular Car Logos: Famous Emblems Rank High
The most popular car logos are mostly old, distinctive emblems, and each famous car logo here has a page that explains what the badge shows. The top ten includes the Porsche crest, the BMW roundel, the Lamborghini bull, the Toyota ovals, the Audi rings, the Ferrari prancing horse and the Mercedes-Benz star. Many famous car logos use a horse, a shield or wings, and the logos of brands such as Ferrari and Porsche are searched far more than those of much larger mainstream brands. For the most expensive of the famous names, see luxury car brands and sports car brands.
