What you'll find here

Every brand has its own page with the current logo, a short history, the country of origin, founding year, founders and parent company. Where a logo has changed over the decades, we show each version with its years, so you can see how a badge like Alfa Romeo's or Peugeot's evolved.

You can browse brands in several ways:

Why we built it

Questions like "which car has a horse logo?" or "what is that badge on the car in front of me?" are surprisingly hard to answer from a search engine. Information about smaller, regional and defunct brands is scattered across forums, old brochures and fan wikis. We wanted one tidy, fast place that answers those questions for every brand, not just the twenty you already know.

How we write and check pages

Pages are compiled from manufacturers' own websites and press material, company histories, museum archives and reputable motoring publications. Drafts are assisted by AI research tools and then reviewed and edited; we check names, dates, ownership and logo versions against more than one source before a page goes live, and we update pages when brands rebrand, change owners or close.

Mistakes still happen. If you spot one, please tell us, ideally with a source, and we'll fix it.

Independence and trademarks

CarBrandNames is an independent reference site. We are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any car maker. All logos and brand names are trademarks of their respective owners and are shown for identification and editorial purposes. If you represent a brand and want a logo updated or removed, contact us.
