The Turcat-Méry logo is a round blue badge with a T and an M joined into one monogram. Turcat-Méry was a French car maker from Marseille that built cars from 1899 until 1928 and won the first Monte Carlo Rally.

The Turcat-Méry emblem is a roundel built from concentric rings. A bright blue outer ring and a thin ring of light blue frame a pale blue-grey disc, and on the disc sits the monogram. The T is drawn as a flat bar with a short stem, and the M passes under that bar, so the two initials of the founders’ surnames share one shape. The Turcat-Méry symbol uses blue shades only and carries no other lettering.

The brand also marked its cars with its full name. A signature-style Turcat-Méry badge in flowing script, in gilt metal, was photographed on a radiator grille. This page offers the Turcat-Méry logo PNG of the blue monogram with a transparent background, since that roundel is the main Turcat-Méry car logo.

Turcat-Méry Logo History

The Turcat-Méry logo history has two marks that belong to the same period, from the launch of the firm in 1899 to its closure in 1928. The best-known Turcat-Méry logo is the blue TM roundel, a simple badge of rings around a monogram.

The other Turcat-Méry badge is a metal nameplate. The name is written in a joined, slanted hand with long, looping strokes, and the metal is gilt against the dark honeycomb of the radiator behind it. It is listed here under the same years as the roundel.

Turcat-Méry History

Now celebrated as the marque that won the inaugural Monte Carlo Rally, this French motor manufacturer was also a Grand Prix competitor. Its slogan was “The Car of the Connoisseur”.

In 1895 Alphonse Méry of Marseille bought a Panhard et Levassor and a Peugeot. His younger brother Simon Méry and his brother-in-law Léon Turcat, both engineers, decided to improve on both models with their own design. It was a 2.6-litre, four-cylinder, five-speed car with electric ignition, radiators at each end of the engine and two speeds in reverse. When the car was ready for sale in 1899, they founded Turcat-Méry & Cie.

The company then formed a partnership with Baron Adrien de Turckheim of De Dietrich and Lorraine-Dietrich. Henri Rougier became the Paris agent and chief publicist for both Turcat-Méry and Lorraine-Dietrich through a long career in motor racing and rallying. The link with Lorraine-Dietrich lasted until the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, and Turcat-Méry ceased production in 1928.
