The DR Motor Company logo is the two lowercase letters d and r, set side by side in very dark navy. DR Motor Company, also known as DR Automobiles, is an Italian car company based in Macchia d’Isernia that mainly sells vehicles rebadged from Chinese makers.

The DR Motor Company emblem is a pure lettermark. Both letters are heavy, rounded and drawn close together, with the r tucked against the stem of the d, and the dark navy is so deep that it reads as black. Beyond the letters, the DR Motor Company symbol has no outline, shield or second colour.

DR Motor Company History

DR Automobiles Groupe is an Italian automobile company established in 2006. Massimo Di Risio founded the company in 1985, and the DR brand was launched in 2006. As of 2008 it had offices in Rome, Campobasso and Pescara.

Since November 2007 DR has partnered with Chery to assemble and distribute Chery vehicles in Italy under the DR name, some of them at a facility in Macchia d’Isernia. The original Chery Tiggo was sold as the DR 5, and the Riich M1 became the DR 1. At the end of 2018 the company had 20 dealers in Italy.

In 2020 DR launched its first sub-brand, EVO, and began rebadging vehicles from BAIC Group. In 2022 it added the more premium Sportequipe, also rebadged Chery vehicles. It also introduced the ICKX brand, renamed ICH-X after a legal dispute with the former racing driver Jacky Ickx, and acquired the OSCA brand from the Maserati family. The first electric DR, the DR 1.0, a rebadged Chery eQ1, went on sale in February 2023.

After buying Tiger Racing in 2023, DR introduced the Tiger sub-brand in 2024 and started rebadging vehicles from Dongfeng Motor Corporation. In 2025 it presented the Stilnovo brand at the Turin Auto Show. The group now builds vehicles under eight brands: DR, EVO, Sportequipe, ICH-X, Tiger, Birba, Katay and Stilnovo, and it also sources from JAC Motors and Changan Automobile.
