Saipa History

Saipa was established in 1965 under the original name SAIPAC. The company began as a joint effort with 75 percent Iranian ownership and held a Citroën license to assemble vehicles for the Iranian market. Headquarters have remained in Tehran, Iran, since the brand’s founding.

In 1975 the Iranian state withdrew from the company. That same year the name changed from SAIPAC to SAIPA. The rebranding marked the start of the brand’s independent corporate identity while continuing its focus on vehicle production.

Saipa Logo Evolution

Saipa logo

The current Saipa logo has been in use since the official name change in 1975. It consists of stylized SAIPA text combined with a geometric rounded design that many observers compare to a volleyball. The simple construction uses basic shapes and typography, which keeps the mark easily recognizable.

  • Design: Stylized SAIPA lettering merged with geometric circular elements
  • Colors: Blue and white as the standard corporate palette
  • Changes: Introduced at the time of the 1975 renaming and has remained the primary mark
  • Context: Directly tied to the creation of the SAIPA corporate identity after state ownership ended

The straightforward geometric forms make the Saipa car logo suitable for reproduction across print, digital, and vehicle applications. Because the design relies only on simple shapes and text it exists in the public domain. High-resolution versions including Saipa logo png, Saipa logo transparent, and Saipa logo hd are frequently requested by enthusiasts and designers.

The Saipa emblem has maintained the same core visual identity for nearly five decades. Its clean appearance reflects the brand’s pragmatic engineering ethos. The consistent use of the mark since 1975 reinforces brand recognition inside Iran and among international observers interested in automotive history from the region.

Current leadership under Managing Director Mehdi Jamali continues to guide the company, which operates several key subsidiaries. These include Saipa Diesel, Pars Khodro, and Zamyad Co. A recent memorandum of understanding with Malaysia’s Proton explored joint development of a new compact sedan, showing the brand’s ongoing interest in strategic partnerships.

Saipa remains an important part of Iran’s automotive sector. Its logo evolution from the 1975 name change to the present illustrates a deliberate choice to adopt a simple, memorable symbol that has endured without major alteration. The blue-and-white Saipa badge continues to appear on vehicles, corporate materials, and official communications, serving as a stable visual anchor for the manufacturer founded in 1965.
