Brand History
Feifan Auto originated as an offshoot of SAIC Motor’s Roewe brand. The company was founded on May 10 2020 as Roewe R Brand dedicated to new energy and intelligent vehicles.
In 2021 the English name Rising Auto was introduced to provide a more meaningful identity for the R brand. Later that same year the Chinese name Feifan meaning Rising or Extraordinary was launched in October.
Independence and Reintegration
The brand became an independent operation under the name Rising Auto and Feifan Auto in November 2021. This period of standalone activity lasted until October 2024 when it ended independent operation.
In November 2024 SAIC announced the official rollback with Feifan reintegrated as a high-end premium electric product line under the Roewe brand.
Feifan Logo Evolution
2020–2021: Roewe R Brand

The first logo era coincided with the brand’s founding as an offshoot of Roewe. This period used the R Brand identity while early vehicles were rebadged Roewe models.
- Design: Centered around the letter R
- Colors: Not specified in primary sources
- Changes: Served as predecessor before full independence
- Context: Used from 2020 until the transition to independent branding in 2021
2021–2024: Feifan Rising Auto

A new distinct logo was created to support the transition from Roewe sub-brand to a fully independent electric vehicle marque. This emblem accompanied the introduction of the Feifan name and helped establish an independent premium identity.
- Design: Distinct new logo created for independence
- Colors: Not specified in primary sources
- Changes: Replaced the earlier R-focused logo
- Context: Launched alongside independence in November 2021 and used throughout the standalone period
The Feifan logo evolution reflects the brand’s short journey from sub-brand to independent operation and eventual reintegration. This logo history provides context for understanding how SAIC Motor shaped its new-energy vehicle identity.
Following the 2024 reintegration the brand no longer operates independently. As a premium electric product line under Roewe the visual identity is expected to align with the parent brand going forward.
The Feifan car symbol from the independent era remains a reference point for the marque’s brief period of separate branding. This chapter in automotive branding illustrates the fast-moving nature of electric vehicle brand strategies in the early 2020s.
