The Amilcar logo is the name AMILCAR in dark grey serif capitals with joined letters. Amilcar was a French car marque founded in Paris in 1921 that later moved to Saint-Denis and stopped building cars in 1939.
Amilcar Logo
The Amilcar emblem is a pure wordmark. The heavy serif capitals are set in one dark grey colour on a plain background, and neighbouring letters share strokes, so the word reads as a single connected shape. The Amilcar symbol has no shield or figure in it; the weight of the serifs and the tight joins are the only design decoration, and the Amilcar badge is the name itself.
As the Amilcar car logo, the wordmark stood for the marque on its small sports cars. The page offers the Amilcar logo PNG with a transparent background.
Amilcar Logo History
An enamel advertising sign kept at the Louwman Museum shows a second Amilcar badge. The sign is a red inverted triangle with the name AMILCAR across the top and a winged figure below it, so the marque also used a pictorial badge next to its name.

Amilcar History
Amilcar was founded in July 1921 by Joseph Lamy and Emile Akar. The name was an imperfect anagram of the partners’ names. The business started at 34 rue du Chemin-Vert in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. It quickly outgrew these city-centre premises, and in the middle of 1924 the company moved to Saint-Denis on the northern edge of Paris.
The marque built cars until 1939, although some sources give 1940 as the last year. Its models carried letter codes, among them the M, the CGS, the CGSS and the C8, and later cars were the Compound and the Pégase.
