Range Rover Logo: Meaning and History

The Range Rover logo is a wordmark: the words RANGE ROVER in wide-spaced dark capitals with no separate symbol. Range Rover is a 4x4 luxury marque and sub-brand of Land Rover, part of Jaguar Land Rover, and its cars are built in Solihull in the United Kingdom.

Range Rover Logo

The Range Rover emblem has no pictorial element. The design is two words in a plain sans-serif typeface, set in capitals with generous spacing between the letters, in a dark navy that reads as black. The same lettering appears as a metal Range Rover badge on the tailgate of the cars, and the plain, wide letterforms make the Range Rover symbol easy to recognize without a shield or an animal.

The Range Rover car logo is separate from the green oval of Land Rover, the parent brand, which carries its own name. This page offers the Range Rover logo PNG with a transparent background.

Range Rover Logo History

The Range Rover logo history starts with the first car in 1970, and its identity rests on the name itself, written out in full rather than reduced to a monogram. The wordmark shown on this page is the design in use today.

The original car is known as the Range Rover Classic. Further models have been launched under the name, including the Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover GT.
