The Multicar logo is the name in bold blue lowercase letters with an orange swoosh underneath. Multicar is a German maker of small multifunctional equipment carriers, built in Waltershausen and sold today as a product line of Hako.

The Multicar emblem is a plain wordmark, with no separate symbol. The word multicar is written in heavy, rounded blue letters, and an orange line runs under it and ends in a slanted stroke on the right. The Multicar badge is this lettering with the swoosh. The same mark serves as the Multicar car logo on the company’s carriers. This page offers the Multicar logo PNG with a transparent background, and the Multicar symbol keeps its blue and orange colours.

Multicar Logo History

The brand has an older version from the East German period. The old Multicar logo of 1979, used on the M25, is the name in black italic script with the IFA mark on the left, the sign of the East German vehicle industry association. The M25 was a major export, with 70 percent going to the Comecon states and the West.

The new Multicar logo drops the IFA mark and the black script. It uses blue block letters with an orange swoosh, which is the version shown at the top of this page and in use today.

Multicar History

The company was founded in 1920 as the ADE works, named after Arthur Ade, and it made agricultural equipment, trailers and clutches. Production resumed in 1946 as Gerätebau Waltershausen, and in 1948 the company was renamed VEB Fahrzeugwerk Waltershausen. The DK 3 diesel cart followed in 1956, and the first Multicar, the M21, was built two years later. The M22 mini truck was made for ten years, with 42,500 built, and the M24 followed until 1978, with 25,600 built.

The factory was privatized in 1991. The M26 was made from 1993 to 2011, and the FUMO series began in 2001. In 1998 the west German Hako-Werke became the majority shareholder, and in 2005 Multicar was merged with Hako as a brand name. Since spring 2013 Multicar has been a product line under the Hako name, and Multicar is the only brand from the East German IFA vehicle industry that still produces its own vehicles.
