The Xiali logo is a silver ring that holds a stylized letter A. Xiali was a Chinese car brand of Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile, a subsidiary of FAW Group based in Tianjin, best known for small taxi cars built on Daihatsu designs.
Xiali Logo
The Xiali emblem is a chrome badge. A circular ring frames an A-shaped design, and both the ring and the letter are polished silver. The picture on this page is a photograph of the metal badge as fitted to the cars, so it shows the shine and reflections of the chrome, not a flat drawing. The palette is silver and white, the Xiali symbol is the A inside the circle, and the Xiali badge sat on the front of the cars as the Xiali car logo.
The page offers the Xiali logo PNG with a transparent background.
What does the name Xiali mean
Xiali (夏利) is Chinese for “Charade”, the name of the Daihatsu model on which the first Xiali cars were based.
Xiali Logo History
The Xiali logo history centers on this chrome ring-and-A badge, the mark of a brand that ran from August 1997 until 2015, when Junpai replaced it. The photographed badge is the design shown as the current Xiali logo on this page.
Xiali History
Tianjin FAW was founded in 1965 and was originally counted among the “three smalls” of the Chinese car industry, together with Guangzhou Honda and Beijing. Its first product, in 1965, was the Tianjin TJ210, a copy of the Beijing Jeep. In 1983 it chose Daihatsu as a partner, and in November 1984 the first vehicle left the works: a locally built Daihatsu Hijet, followed by the Charade from 1986.
The Xiali brand was formed in August 1997 for the cars based on the Charade: the TJ730, then the TJ7100 hatchback and TJ7100U sedan. Many towns used them as taxis, and the company reached second place in the Chinese market by 2000. Later models included the Daihatsu-based Xiali N3, built from 2004 to 2012, and the Xiali 2000, based on the Toyota Platz.
Sales fell from 185,000 units in 2012 to 37,000 in 2016. The Xiali brand was discontinued in 2015 and replaced by Junpai. In June 2019 the company stopped producing models, and in January 2021 FAW Xiali was renamed China Railway Materials, after its remaining assets and employees went into other FAW Group units.
