Brand Overview
Aixam Mega, also referred to as Aixam-Mega, is a French automobile manufacturer headquartered in Aix-les-Bains, Savoie. The company was founded in 1983 by Jacques Gandon and Lionel Gottret, who acquired Arola that same year to start microcar production. Its main focus remains microcars, quadricycles, compact cars, utility vehicles and electric vehicles.
Brand History and Milestones
The company began as Aixam in 1983 using an original circle logo with a large letter A. In the early 1990s it shifted toward microcar production and adopted the Mega name. Key product launches during this period include the first electric quadricycle in 1997 and the Mega Multitruck utility vehicle in 2001.
In 2007 the company modernized its visual identity while continuing to emphasize innovation and sustainable mobility. Polaris Industries acquired the Aixam Group on April 11, 2013, keeping the Mega sub-brand under new ownership.
