Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles was founded in 1994, when Daimler bought two factory facilities from the Ghabbour Group. The manufacturing plant is in El Salheya El Gedida, which means “New Salheya”, and the head office is in Obour City, near Cairo. Production capacity in Egypt is 6,000 buses and 1,200 trucks a year.

The company owns the trademark rights to the brands ECHOLINE, eVolution and MCV. Some models are assembled under the dual brand name Mercedes-Benz MCV.
