The Ineos logo is the dark navy INEOS wordmark, a name in capital letters with no separate symbol. Ineos Automotive is a British maker of off-road vehicles, owned by the Ineos group and best known for the Grenadier.

The Ineos emblem is a pure wordmark. The letters INEOS mix two styles: the I and N are thin serif letters, while the E, O and S are heavy and sans-serif, and the O is cut by narrow lens-shaped openings. The colour is a very dark navy that reads almost as black on a white background. It is the same wordmark that the Ineos group uses for its other businesses, and no pictorial Ineos symbol or Ineos badge is added to it.

Ineos Automotive was founded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, chairman of the chemicals company Ineos. Ratcliffe wanted a replacement for his Land Rover Defender. When the original Defender ended production at Solihull in January 2016 after 67 years, he approached Jaguar Land Rover about buying the tooling, but the firm declined. He then started a project to design a similar vehicle under the codename Projekt Grenadier.

The Ineos Grenadier is named after Ratcliffe’s favourite pub, The Grenadier in Belgravia, London, where the idea was discussed and a presentation was later shown. The first details were revealed in July 2020, and the interior and technical specifications followed in mid-2021. Magna Steyr is a technology partner, and BMW supplies the engines. Production was planned for a new plant in Bridgend, Wales, but the company took over the Smart factory in Hambach, France, and the first Grenadier was built there in October 2022.

Ineos has also worked on alternative drives. In October 2021 it agreed a partnership with the Hyundai Motor Group to build a hydrogen fuel cell Grenadier. A smaller electric or hybrid model, the Fusilier, was shown as a prototype in February 2024 and cancelled in July 2024. The company is based in London.
