Enovate Logo: Meaning and History

The Enovate logo is three horizontal bars set beside the Chinese name 天际汽车, drawn in dark grey. Enovate is a Chinese maker of electric cars from Shaoxing in Zhejiang, founded in 2015 by Hailiang Zhang under the name Dearcc.

The Enovate symbol is a stack of three thick horizontal bars of equal length, placed to the left of the brand’s Chinese name, 天际汽车 (Tianji Qiche, “horizon automobile”). The bars and the characters share one dark grey colour, and the design uses no curves, no frame and no badge shape. The brand’s website uses the same emblem in white on dark pages. Enovate Logo History

The Enovate logo dates from the November 2018 rebrand, when Dearcc changed its name to Enovate Motors. The first cars, the Dearcc EV10 city cars delivered in 2018, were sold under the Dearcc name before the change. The three-bar emblem then marked the Enovate ME7 and ME5 SUVs until production ended in 2023.

Enovate History

Zhejiang Dianka Automobile Technology Co. Ltd. was founded on June 23, 2015, in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, to build electric cars. Its first model was the Dearcc EV10, a small city car with an all-electric range of up to 155 km (96 mi). In May 2018 Dearcc delivered the first 1,000 EV10s, but production stopped within a year as the company changed course.

In November 2018 the company became Enovate Motors and moved from cheap city cars to compact electric SUVs. The Enovate ME7 went on sale in China in May 2019, the ME-S luxury sedan was shown as a study the same year, and the smaller ME5 SUV followed in July 2021. In December 2022 Enovate signed an agreement with Saudi investors to build its first plant outside China.

In April 2023 the company’s finances collapsed after it closed its showrooms and cut salaries. Enovate stopped building both models and closed its factory in Changsha, and at the start of 2024 its assets were frozen in pre-bankruptcy proceedings.
