The Cooper logo is a round chrome badge with a thin red ring and the name COOPER in slanted black capitals across the centre. It belongs to the Cooper Car Company, a British racing and road car maker founded in 1947 in Surbiton, Surrey.

The Cooper emblem is a circular plate with a polished metal face. A fine red line runs just inside the edge, and the name sits across the middle in tall, narrow, italic capitals with a black outline, with a small screw on each side. This Cooper badge is shown as it looks on a 1959 Cooper T51 race car, mounted on the black bodywork. The Cooper car logo is a plain name plate, and the Cooper symbol is the name itself. This page offers the Cooper logo PNG with a transparent background.

A search for the Cooper tires logo or the Cooper tire logo leads to a different company, Cooper Tire. The Mini Cooper script badge is also a separate mark: the Cooper name lives on in the Cooper versions of the Mini, which are now owned and marketed by BMW.

Cooper History

The Cooper Car Company was founded in December 1947 by Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper. Together with John’s boyhood friend Eric Brandon, they began by building racing cars in Charles’s small garage in Surbiton, Surrey, in 1946. The first cars were single-seat 500-cc Formula Three racers with a JAP motorcycle engine, and the engine sat behind the driver because the motorcycle gearbox drove a chain.

The Cooper 500 sold well to young British drivers, and the company became the world’s first and largest postwar specialist maker of racing cars for privateers. Cooper reached Formula One with the front-engined Cooper Bristol in 1952, and in the 1950s and early 1960s its mid-engined single-seaters raced in both Formula One and the Indianapolis 500. The Mini Cooper dominated rally racing.
