The Volga logo is a black wordmark: the name VOLGA in wide, evenly spaced capitals, with no symbol. Volga is a Russian car marque, formerly Soviet, made by the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) in Nizhny Novgorod.

The Volga emblem is built from letters alone. The capitals are broad and flat, drawn in a geometric typeface with a wide round O, and the gaps between them are large, which gives the Volga badge a calm, modern look. The colour is plain black. As a Volga car logo it can be set on the front of a car or on a body panel. The clean outline makes a Volga logo PNG with a transparent background easy to place on any light surface. The page offers that Volga symbol as a PNG.

Volga Logo History

The old Volga logo was written in script. Chrome lettering in a flowing, hand-drawn style spelled the name in Russian letters and was fixed to the fender of the GAZ-24 Volga, one of the cars sold under the marque between 1956 and 2010. The slanted strokes and the raised metal made this early Volga badge a piece of body decoration more than a flat drawing.

The new Volga logo is the black wordmark. It replaced the chrome script when GAZ brought the name back around 2024, and it is a single flat line of capitals in place of the cursive lettering. This evolution moves from decorative metal script to a plain, geometric word.

Volga History

Volga is a Russian, formerly Soviet, marque from the Gorky Automobile Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. Its cars have their roots in the GAZ Volga, a series of executive cars from the same factory. The first car to carry the marque was the GAZ-21 Volga, with production beginning in 1956.

The cars served the Soviet nomenklatura, which made them a cultural icon and led to urban legends such as the Black Volga. Vehicles with the Volga name continued until 2010, when production of the Volga Siber ended. In 2024 it was reported that GAZ would bring the Volga brand back for a new series of vehicles, under the joint stock company Production of Passenger Cars.
