On the cars the triangle alone is the Cupra badge, the Cupra symbol and the Cupra car logo on the grille, while the CUPRA lettering appears at the rear and on the sides. The page offers the Cupra logo PNG with a transparent background.

What the Cupra logo means

The new Cupra logo came with the standalone brand in 2018. The wordmark kept the wide capitals and gained the angular two-triangle emblem above it. This is the evolution in two steps, from lettering alone to a symbol with lettering.

Cupra History

The name Cupra, short for “Cup Racing”, was first used in 1996 on the SEAT Ibiza GTI 2.0 16V Cupra Sport, a street-legal version of the Ibiza kit car from the competition. It was a special edition celebrating SEAT’s victory in the 1996 FIA 2-Litre World Rally Cup. It was followed by the Ibiza Cupra 1.8 20V and the SEAT León Cupra 1.8 20V in 1999, and by the Ibiza Cupra R in 2000. Every León generation since then has had a Cupra hot hatch.

Cupra grew out of Cupra Racing, previously SEAT Sport, the high-performance motorsport subsidiary of SEAT. SEAT confirmed on 31 January 2018 that Cupra would become a standalone brand, and the first model, the Cupra Ateca, followed in October 2018. The León came in February 2020. The Formentor, introduced in 2020, was the first Cupra not shared with SEAT.

The first electric Cupra, the Born, arrived in 2021 and is closely related to the Volkswagen ID.3. The Tavascan followed in April 2023 and is the first Cupra made outside Europe, built in China. In March 2024 the brand said it intends to enter the U.S. market by the end of the decade.
