The CMC logo is a grey chrome rhombus with a vertical oval inside it, set above the letters CMC in bold black capitals. CMC is short for China Motor Corporation, a Taiwanese vehicle maker based in Taipei and part of the Yulon Motor group.
CMC Logo
The CMC emblem sits above a wordmark. The CMC symbol is a rhombus with rounded points, and a narrow oval with two small diamond shapes inside it fills the centre. Below it, the three letters are cut as wide, heavy black blocks. The CMC badge goes on the front of the company’s vans and trucks, where the chrome rhombus is mounted on the grille, so the CMC car logo is the rhombus first and the letters second. This page offers the CMC logo PNG with a transparent background.
What the CMC logo means
What does CMC stand for? China Motor Corporation. In Chinese the company is called Zhōnghuá Qìchē Gōngyè, and the three letters are the English abbreviation of that name. So the CMC logo meaning is simply the company name in short form.
CMC Logo History
Across the years the CMC logo evolution runs through a diamond plate, a letters-only badge and a redrawn rhombus.
In the 1980s the company used a diamond-shaped plate, a red rhombus with a white inner mark on a blue ground. This original plate is the earliest old CMC logo shown here.

At the same time the 1980s CMC Varica pickup carried the abbreviation alone, in chrome letters on the grille, with no diamond.

A second-generation plate followed, around 2010 on the CMC Veryca van. It kept the diamond and the inner mark, now in red with a silver frame.

In May 2019, for the company’s 50th anniversary, CMC introduced a third-generation corporate identity. The new CMC logo replaced the red diamond with the grey chrome rhombus and put the black letters under it.

CMC History
China Motor Corporation was founded in June 1969 and signed a technology sharing contract with Mitsubishi Motors the following year. Its first factory, at Yangmei, opened on 12 December 1973, and the 100,000th vehicle came off the line in 1983. The company first built commercial vehicles only. It has been listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange since March 1991.
All of CMC’s models are of Mitsubishi origin, adjusted for the Taiwanese market. They include the Veryca van, the Zinger commercial vehicle and the Delica. Yulon Motor Group is the largest shareholder with over 40 percent, and Mitsubishi holds about 14 percent. The company also sells the MG HS and other MG models imported from SAIC Motor.
