The Allard logo is an oval badge with a dark red enamel field and the name ALLARD in raised chrome capitals. Allard was a small British car maker founded in London in 1945 by Sydney Allard, and it ceased trading in 1958.

The Allard emblem is a plain nameplate, and the Allard symbol is the name itself. The letters are serif capitals that stand out from the red field, and a polished chrome rim frames the oval. No figure, crest or symbol sits beside the name, so the Allard badge relies on the red colour and the lettering alone. The Allard car logo is shown on this page as a photograph of the badge as it was fitted to the cars, not a flat drawing. This page also offers the Allard logo PNG with a transparent background.

The Allard logo history centres on this oval badge, shown here for the years the marque existed. A badge of the same oval shape, with the lettering in the same raised style, appears on a car from 1949.

Allard History

Allard Motor Company Limited was a London-based, low-volume car manufacturer. Sydney Allard founded it in 1945 in small premises in Clapham, south-west London. Before the Second World War he had already supplied some replicas of a Bugatti-tailed special of his own design from Adlards Motors in Putney, which was the starting point for the company.

Allard cars combined large American V8 engines with a light British chassis and body, which gave a high power-to-weight ratio and foreshadowed the Sunbeam Tiger and AC Cobra of the early 1960s. Cobra designer Carroll Shelby and Chevrolet Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov both drove Allards in the early 1950s.

The firm remained small. It produced approximately 1,900 cars, and car manufacture almost ceased within a decade of its founding. Allard became insolvent and ceased trading in 1958.
