AIL Logo: Meaning and History

The AIL logo is a teal-blue wordmark that spells out Automotive Industries Ltd. beside a small circular emblem. AIL is an Israeli vehicle maker in Nof HaGalil that supplies the Israeli Security Forces.

AIL Logo

The AIL emblem is a ring in the same teal-blue as the lettering, with a diamond-shaped star drawn inside it. It stands to the left of the name, and the words Automotive Industries Ltd. follow in bold, rounded letters on a white background, with no other colour. The ring is the AIL symbol, and together with the full name it makes up the AIL car logo and the AIL badge. This page offers the AIL logo PNG with a transparent background.

What does AIL stand for?

AIL stands for Automotive Industries Ltd. In Hebrew the company is called Ta’asiyot Rekhev Natzrat Ilit, and the lettering of the logo gives the full English name rather than the three initials.

AIL Logo History

The AIL logo history has one version: the wordmark with the ring emblem on its left.

AIL History

Automotive Industries Ltd. was founded in 1966 by Automotive Equipment Group as a plant for assembling cars and trucks, and it is located in Nof HaGalil. Its role in vehicle manufacture grew over time. AIL did much of the work on several early Willys MB derivatives. It later built the M462 trucks, the AIL Storm series of Jeep Wrangler derivatives, which carries the Hebrew name Sufa, and the AIL Desert Raider.

AIL was also the assembly point for Humvees used by the Israel Defense Forces, but U.S. foreign aid guarantees moved those contracts to plants in the United States. The Storm III went into production in August 2008.
